Laser treatments can help to minimize fine lines and spotting, soften scarring, and tighten pores; however, they can also lead to bacterial infections or spark an outbreak of herpes simplex (which causes cold sores) on darker skin tones.

Devgan suggests you can protect against side effects by applying daily broad-spectrum sunscreen, and there are five forms of laser treatments that can rejuvenate the face.

1. Fractional CO2 Laser

Laser Resurfacing with Fractional CO2 Laser Therapy is a non-invasive procedure that is designed to diminish fine lines and wrinkles while also diminishing sun damage, discoloration and other cosmetic imperfections in your skin.

This treatment employs a carbon dioxide laser to promote your body’s natural healing process and accelerate collagen and elastin production, which in turn gives new skin tissue with more youthful resilience that helps diminish fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, freckling, discoloration and discoloration. Furthermore, it may even help heal any remaining acne scarring.

Fractional CO2 laser treatments differ from total laser resurfacing by leaving microscopic columns of untreated tissue intact in your treatment area, which reduces risks such as redness and swelling while shortening recovery times.

Your doctor will first apply a topical anesthetic cream to the treatment area prior to beginning, before using laser technology on it in a pattern across your face – usually lasting only 20-30 minutes on average. After this procedure is finished, flushing may occur for one or two days and followed by small crusts which then fall off, revealing pink skin underneath.

This treatment is beneficial for all skin types, including darker complexions. It works particularly well at treating deeper lines, wrinkles and severe textural changes caused by sun damage; additionally it can also be used to address blotchiness as well as surgical or traumatic scarring.

Laser treatments are a good solution if you want to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, discoloration, sun damage or improve skin tone. Unfortunately, however, laser therapy cannot eliminate excess sagging skin or prevent future aging or scarring.

2. Halo Laser

Halo laser treatment is an exciting new hybrid technology that utilizes nonablative and ablative wavelengths at once to treat skin tissue underneath your facial surface. While nonablative wavelengths heat the underlying skin tissue without harming its top layer, ablative wavelengths create zones of coagulation at particular depths to promote collagen synthesis and improve tone and texture.

As part of this process, you may experience some mild discomfort and redness; this should subside within several days as your natural healing processes kick into gear. Light flaking may appear; it’s important not to pick at this skin as it will shed after several weeks to reveal fresh, radiant skin beneath.

Halo stands out as an effective, safe, noninvasive treatment suitable for all complexions and skin types. Being nonablative laser technology, it won’t affect the top layers of your face and is completely safe to use on sensitive areas like eyes and necks.

Assuming you follow a series of treatments, results should become noticeable within three months. If your damage runs deeper or you wish to intensify them further, we can suggest additional therapies such as IPL or violet-blue light to further boost the glow and give your complexion the boost it needs to thrive.

As with any laser treatment, there is the risk of infection and changes to skin tone (either darker or lighter). To minimise this risk and ensure the best outcome possible, we advise washing your face three to four times a day with warm water while using gentle skincare products like Cetaphil or Dr. Jart+’s Ceramidin Cream; additionally wearing physical mineral-based sunscreen with SPF 30 protection is key while the healing process takes place.

3. CO2 Laser

CO2 laser treatment can be an excellent way to minimize wrinkles and fine lines while improving skin tone. It may also help lessen freckles and sun damage while depending on its indication, it may reduce or eliminate superficial scars. CO2 laser procedures are frequently combined with other cosmetic procedures like Retin-A injections, chemical peels, microdermabrasion or collagen or fat injections for maximum efficacy.

The CO2 laser works by vaporizing the surface of your skin, which removes old, damaged cells while stimulating new cell production for firmer and smoother skin. Treatment can be applied across the whole face or just selected areas by cosmetic surgeons or dermatologists who will apply an ointment during their procedure to protect from irritation or infection.

Non-ablative fractional CO2 lasers are also available, featuring an innovative dynamic cooling device which cools the skin prior to each laser pulse, preventing overheating and post-treatment bruising. Non-ablative lasers tend to work best for people with lighter skin.

Laser facial rejuvenation treatments can help reduce redness caused by conditions like rosacea or acne. Their wavelengths target skin cells that store red pigmentation; as such, this laser helps reduce facial redness as well as broken blood vessels and spider veins.

Up until recently, fully ablative CO2 lasers were the only type of laser capable of treating wrinkles and other facial skin conditions. Thanks to recent technological advancements, however, fractional lasers now offer more comfortable treatments with quicker healing times and reduced risks after treatment.

4. Pulsed Dye Laser

This laser uses short bursts of light that penetrate the skin to target abnormal blood vessels or lesions beneath. It emits yellow-colored laser light, which absorbs by blood vessels and destroys them while leaving surrounding tissue undamaged. This treatment works effectively for port wine stains, hemangiomas, red scars and hypertrophic scars as well as telangiectasias (spider veins) and rosacea; Vbeam Perfecta and Prima both utilize 595nm wavelength to treat these conditions.

Pulsed dye laser treatments can be applied to virtually all parts of the body, but are particularly effective at eliminating red spots caused by rosacea. When combined with topical creams or other modalities to help address vascular lesions, pulsed dye laser can provide dramatic improvements; however, this does not provide an outright cure; many patients will require multiple sessions.

After treatment, some individuals may experience side effects such as redness or scabbing on their skin; these marks should fade as your body heals. It is advised to use sun protection with SPF 30+ after this therapy to ensure optimal results.

Pulsed dye laser treatment can be extremely successful at eliminating hemangiomas, with minimal side effects or need for anesthesia. Most patients only need a single session; those with more extensive lesions may require multiple sessions.

Pulsed dye laser can be an incredibly effective tool in treating vascular lesions under the skin, such as venous lakes and blue veins. Its safe and minimally-invasive laser therapy treatment makes it suitable for use on both facial areas as well as other parts of the body.

5. IPL

Although lasers can damage your skin surface, IPL face treatments utilize light therapy to address and reverse discoloration. Also referred to as photo facial treatments, IPL treatments use light energy to address and reverse discoloration on all types of skin surfaces and colors without being invasive or intrusive. This non-invasive solution works effectively on all skin types and colors alike!

The IPL treatment uses light with multiple wavelengths that penetrate deep into your second layer without harming its surface. The light breaks up dark pigmentation associated with sun damage and age spots to produce an even skin tone and may reduce redness caused by conditions like rosacea or other conditions.

IPL treatment offers numerous advantages, including killing bacteria that causes acne and shrinking pores while stimulating skin renewal to diminish scar tissue formation. It can be done as either an individual procedure or part of a tailored treatment plan.

Attracting safe and effective results when selecting an aesthetics expert to perform IPL or light therapy treatments is paramount. Make sure your cosmetic professional possesses proper certifications from either the American Board of Plastic Surgery or Dermatology; additionally, experience is also key. Before beginning treatments with any aesthetics expert, discuss your desired goals for skin improvement with them so they can develop a personalized plan designed to deliver desired outcomes – such as treating discoloration or fine lines and wrinkles in multiple sessions.
