Laser hair removal is a non-invasive cosmetic treatment, using pulses of light energy to target and destroy active hair follicles. Diode laser technology provides more targeted targeting of pigment in your skin compared to IPL technology.

It can also work on lighter, finer hair types as well as thicker, darker locks; after only 4-6 treatments you will experience a significant decrease in hair growth.

How Does Diode Laser Work?

Laser hair removal is a non-invasive procedure that utilizes laser light to destroy and disable unwanted hair follicles. When exposed to light from a laser beam, melanin pigment within hair follicles absorbs it, turning energy into heat damage to stop future hair growth.

Diode laser hair removal treatments are safe for all skin types and especially effective on people with darker complexions, due to the melanin in their follicles absorbing light energy and providing more precise treatment without harming nearby tissue.

Diode lasers use a narrowly focused beam to target specific areas of skin. Capable of producing high levels of power, diode lasers can be used on all body areas including face, neck, arms, legs, back, shoulders. Each client can have their own tailored diode laser treatment experience with cooling technology for comfort and effectiveness.

Diode lasers are among the most sought-after lasers for hair removal, providing superior results compared to IPL (intense pulsed light) technologies. Although IPL still provides some benefits when treating aesthetic conditions such as acne and wrinkles, its precision when it comes to treating hair is limited and its efficacy limited.

Diode lasers offer an effective and safe solution for hair removal across the body, including delicate areas like under the arms. Treatment plans will depend on your skin type and area being targeted.

Most patients can see significant reductions in hair growth after three to five sessions with a qualified practitioner, who will assess your skin type and provide recommendations.

How Long Does It Take?

Have you tried waxing or shaving to get rid of unwanted hair, only for it to return over time? Luckily, laser technology offers permanent solutions. One of the most popular treatments for permanently reducing or eliminating unwanted hair in both men and women alike, laser technology uses pulses of light energy that target pigment in hair follicles before disabling them – safe for all skin types, hair colors and body areas!

Diode lasers feature built-in cooling technology for ultimate comfort, as well as larger wavelengths capable of treating more hair types and skin tones without discomfort or risk than older IPL lasers. Plus, their faster treatment times mean you could complete an entire leg treatment in as little as half an hour!

As your hair undergoes four stages – anagen (growing phase), telogen (resting phase) and catagen (transitional phase), multiple treatment sessions will likely be required in order to achieve permanent hair reduction results. Melanin helps the laser locate it; during your series of treatment sessions, a technician can target and destroy all anagen phase hair follicles using laser technology.

As well as eliminating unwanted hair, this procedure may also help minimize ingrown hairs and other imperfections by disabling hair follicles with heat from a laser. Therefore, it’s essential that post-treatment care instructions from your dermatologist be strictly adhered to for best results.

Your dermatologist may suggest lifestyle adjustments to help maintain permanent hair reduction results, such as avoiding direct sunlight and tanning beds/lamps; using only sunscreens with SPF 30+; and not tweezing or waxing the area where permanent hair reduction has taken place.

What Are the Side Effects?

Diode laser hair removal is one of the most sought-after aesthetic treatments, thanks to its quick and painless application. Not only can it permanently eliminate unwanted hair, but its success lies in selective photothermolysis; which focuses on targeting melanin pigmentation within hair follicles for removal by heating them with laser energy absorbed by melanin absorption; this process destroys hair production papillae that produce them; however it may be difficult in pubic area where melanin concentrations may be more abundant; therefore authors sought out to evaluate effectiveness of diode laser 805nm in treating pubic area melanin abundance through evaluation of effectiveness using diode laser 805nm for hair removal by laser treatment of melanin absorption by laser energy absorbed from laser light absorption into heat absorption; this process removes hair production papillae which absorbs energy which heats it up so it destroys them from within; this allowed authors to evaluate effectiveness using diode laser 805nm diode laser treatments within pubic areas where melanin pigmented areas have more abundant melanin pigmented melanin accumulations so focussed evaluation was necessary using diode laser 805 nm laser diode laser 805 nm in this specific pubic area using select photothermolysis method using selective photothermolysis targeting pigment melanin with energy absorption which heats it heats it, thus disasing hair producing its production of course leaving pubic area

Fitzpatrick found that this technology was extremely successful at treating all skin types without any adverse side effects in all ethnicities studied. A series of treatment sessions are necessary in order to achieve permanent hair reduction for most patients.

As opposed to electrolysis or needle epilators, laser hair removal is a non-invasive procedure with no downtime. Although you may feel some discomfort during your treatment – depending on the sensitivity of the area being treated. Aloe or cold packs may help ease this discomfort. Furthermore, it’s recommended to wait at least a few days after receiving laser hair removal treatment before plucking or waxing the area as this could compromise results.

At FORME Aesthetic and Vein Center, we use the cutting-edge LightSheer DUET laser machine. This state-of-the-art device offers two wavelengths with various handpieces tailored specifically to each skin type and area of concern. Our clinic was one of the first to offer Eneka PRO diode laser which combines high power with intelligent integrated skin cooling for exceptional performance – treating all skin and hair types without risk or harm to patient comfort. Intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments cannot reach these targets safely whereas with traditional IPL treatment options this innovative system delivers effective and safe treatments of Fitzpatrick skin types safely.

What Can I Expect?

Diode laser treatments differ significantly from their Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) counterparts in that instead of emitting broad wavelengths that scatter energy across skin and hair areas, diode laser treatments focus energy directly into melanin present within a hair follicle to target and damage it; this results in permanent hair reduction by stopping growth altogether and thus stopping further expansion of its melanin follicles.

Diode laser technology uses multiple pulses of targeted energy that provide targeted treatment, shortening treatment times and improving patient comfort – meaning you can achieve results faster without suffering through prolonged sessions or any associated discomfort.

Diode laser provides a faster and more comfortable experience while providing superior versatility and power when treating all types of hair and skin colors. It works on pigmented hair (including tanned skin) as well as medium to dark locks; especially effective on medium to dark locks that may be difficult to treat through traditional means. Furthermore, diode laser offers great solutions for fine, light hair which may otherwise be challenging to manage using traditional methods.

Before undertaking a diode laser session, it’s advisable to avoid waxing or plucking the hairs in the area, and using sunless skin creams which may darken your skin beforehand and limit its effectiveness during treatment.

Before attending your appointment, shave the area in order to expose hair follicles for laser treatments to target and disable. Although some experience slight discomfort during their treatments, most describe it as having felt small rubber bands flicking their skin – especially noticeable for more delicate areas like underarms and bikini lines.

The number of sessions required for complete hair removal depends on your skin type and hair color. On average, however, six to eight treatments should suffice in terms of seeing significant reduction across all body areas. Keep in mind, though, that regrowth may still occur so touch-up treatments may need to be applied from time to time at home – something which is easily done between visits to clinics.
