Laser Hair Removal Omaha Cosmetic Surgery LovelySkin Review

Unwanted body hair can be an eyesore. Laser hair removal offers an effective and safe solution for permanently eliminating unwanted body hair.

Melanin pigment in hair follicles absorbs laser energy, disabling it and preventing future hair growth. Most patients require several sessions spaced out about every six to eight weeks in order to see results.

How It Works

Laser hair removal is a safe, effective, and long-term method for permanently eliminating unwanted body hair. A laser beam passes through the skin into hair follicles where melanin pigment absorbs its light causing injury that prevents future growth of that particular follicle preventing future hair growth compared with depilatory creams or at home devices which typically cause pain while taking time off to heal afterward. Compared with these options, laser treatment typically does not involve pain relief and does not necessitate recovery afterwards! Unlike depilatory creams or at home devices requiring downtime; instead it often gives great results!

At your free consultation, our team will assess whether laser hair removal is right for you and discuss its details, including how many sessions may be needed and when they should take place. In addition, preparation directions will be given so you can prepare for each treatment session.

Side Effects

Laser hair removal is a safe, efficient method for eliminating unwanted body hair that reduces the need for shaving, plucking or waxing. It works by applying heat directly to your pigment in order to destroy its follicles and stop future growth; typically only taking several minutes in small areas like upper lips while larger areas, like backs may take more time for removal.

Before your treatment begins, a topical anesthetic should be applied to minimize any discomfort you might feel during. When the laser passes over your skin and reaches its target follicles, a prickling sensation from its laser beam may cause you to experience. Once there, its high intensity light destroys those follicles, leading to new hair follicles to grow out more fine and lighter in its place.

Redness, itching and swelling are among the most frequently experienced side effects after laser hair removal. They typically subside within several days with cold compresses or ice packs applied directly to the affected area; for optimal healing you should also limit sun exposure until healing has completed.

This procedure may not be permanent, but after two to six treatments most patients find that unwanted hair no longer grows back and any that does regrow is usually thinner and lighter in color. When selecting a provider it’s essential they have experience performing this procedure on a variety of skin types – an unlicensed practitioner could lead to burns or scarring of their own skin type.

Laser hair removal may not be suitable for everyone, so it’s a good idea to consult a dermatologist prior to making a decision about whether this treatment will suit you. People with light, blond or gray hair typically aren’t good candidates due to not enough pigment in their locks being absorbed by laser energy; additionally, laser treatment shouldn’t be performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding as its energy could harm unborn or nursing infants.

Notifying your doctor immediately if you have recently been sunbathing (whether naturally or using spray tanning) can reduce the chance of laser burns; darker skin absorbs more of its energy and increases chances of burning. Shaving, tweezing and waxing hair for several weeks prior to laser treatments will also reduce their responsiveness to heat energy emitted from laser beams.

Results

Laser hair removal performed by an experienced cosmetic surgeon such as Joel Schlessinger MD is one of the most effective, safe, and permanent ways to get rid of unwanted body hair. It works by targeting an area with laser beams that sends light energy that absorbs into pigment (melanin). As melanin absorbs light energy it heats up, damaging hair follicles until eventually they cannot produce more hair again after repeated sessions have completed.

Laser Hair Removal (LHR) is an efficient, noninvasive, fast, and painless procedure used to quickly eliminate unsightly or unwanted hair on any part of the body. Most often it’s used for legs, underarms, back, chest, bikini area and bikini line areas; it may also be effective against unwanted facial or eyebrow hair removal.

Keep in mind that laser hair removal does not work effectively on those with dark skin or gray hair due to not enough pigment to absorb laser energy. Therefore, sun exposure must be limited prior to having laser hair removal done. Our office will discuss whether you qualify as a candidate during your consultation as well as give specific details regarding how many treatments will be necessary and how you should prepare for each session.
