When selecting your laser practitioner, inquire about their training and experience as well as conduct some online or word of mouth research to see if they have the equipment necessary to address your skin concern.
Photos provide objective documentation of your progress with laser treatments or injections, and may also serve as helpful evidence in case any disagreement arises between yourself and the laser practitioner regarding results.
Botox Injections
Botox costs approximately $8 per unit or may cost more depending on where it is administered such as on the forehead or crow’s feet. As there isn’t one single price point when it comes to injectors and their skills and experience aren’t evenly distributed, their prices can differ drastically; oftentimes you can tell which injectors provide excellent services by the results they produce in their patients.
Botox injections administered incorrectly could result in unintended side-effects such as lopsided eyebrows or lower brows (reminiscent of Cro-Magnon). Since every facial structure differs and requires individual evaluation by your injector for optimal results, be wary of practices who offer injections without performing a comprehensive medical exam first; some practices might skip out on conducting one altogether and put your health at risk by giving injections without first conducting such a medical check-up first.
Celibre Medical takes pride in conducting our own research and training with experts with proven success with clients. Additionally, we offer an all-encompassing laser training program including Botox(r), dermal fillers and now a third optional module (Platelet Rich Plasma in 2017). DentoX LIFT is our revolutionary technique which can help you look younger without needles or fillers!
Botox injectors on our team of trained Botox injectors are highly experienced, trained in facial anatomy and have provided hundreds of injections throughout Torrance and Los Angeles. Each client receives personalized care utilizing only top quality products tailored specifically for them; we consider all needs and concerns when tailoring treatment plans to each patient.
Other practices prioritize quantity over quality, only providing their nurses with minimal injection training sessions. As these practitioners cannot customize your treatment to fit you as an individual, it is safer and more effective to go with an expert that offers world class laser training in Torrance with experienced injectors who treat you individually.
Rosacea
If you suffer from rosacea and are fed up with prescription medication, we have you covered. With our laser expertise and equipment at hand, we will tailor a personalized treatment program specifically tailored to fit your goals, budget, lifestyle and skin type.
Lasers work to control acne by killing off the bacteria responsible. However, it’s important to remember that acne bacteria may resurface over time and need regular treatment, which is why we also suggest adding blue-u light treatments or topical creams into your plan as part of managing rosacea.
At our practice, combining therapies is often the best approach to effectively manage and prevent rosacea from returning. Pulsed dye laser treatments and q-switched laser treatments have both proven highly successful at improving skin appearance while decreasing redness, swelling and acne lesions formation.
Pulsed dye laser treatments can significantly enhance the appearance of port wine stains. With multiple sessions over 6 to 12 sessions, we typically achieve 75% improvement in their appearance.
Celibre Medical Corporation is California (and possibly nationwide)’s premier cosmetic laser training school for nurses, physician’s assistants and nurse practitioners. We offer both basic and advanced laser classes with hands on training using real patients to treat scars, spider veins, birthmarks, melanomas as well as tattoo removal.
Sun Spots on the Lips
South Californians face 300 sunny days annually that can damage their skin. Luckily, most sun spots and pigmentation issues can be treated using laser therapy, often providing permanent solutions to patients.
Sunspots are dark patches on the skin caused by exposure to UV rays for extended periods. While not dangerous, sunspots may make people self-conscious and make lips look dry, scaly, and less appealing than they otherwise would be.
Most commonly, these spots result from excessive sun exposure; however, hormones and hereditary predisposition to such conditions may also play a part.
Hereditary precancerous keratoses (actinic keratoses), also known as wart-like spots that form on lips and other areas of the body. Although not cancerous in themselves, regular monitoring with your doctor should ensure they do not progress into more serious forms.
Other dark spots on lips may be caused by sun exposure, hormone disorders or for any number of reasons, including sunburn or exposure to chemicals in cosmetic products. They may form into venous lakes – small dark purple spots which feel soft when pressed – or be the result of thyroid diseases which alter hormone levels and fluctuation.
If the dark spot on your lip is accompanied by other symptoms, such as canker sores or actinic cheilitis lesions similar to cold sores, it could be indicative of one of these conditions. These conditions can be made worse by certain lip products like lipsticks and glosses containing artificial colors or flavors; nicotine patches; or any abrasive ingredients found within them.
Laser treatment is often the optimal treatment option for sun-induced damage, including dark lip spots. A q-switched laser will target abnormal melanocytes in these spots and “shatter” them; your body then naturally reabsorbs these cells back into its system and returns your skin back to its regular appearance.
Laser Resurfacing
Laser resurfacing has long been touted as a revolutionary solution for scars, sun spots and wrinkles, yet each individual may not experience equal results from this treatment. Finding an experienced practitioner and the appropriate laser will be key.
Laser treatments work like gym workouts; when used on skin cells, laser treatments actually injure them and force your body to produce new collagen, eventually tightening and firming up your complexion. But unlike older procedures that damage the surface such as dermal abrasion or chemical peels, modern lasers allow more precise targeting of injury depending on each patient’s individual skin needs.
For scars and fine lines, our most popular laser is the Sciton Profractional or Fraxel laser, which ablates skin in a grid-like pattern to minimize damage compared to fully ablative lasers that remove all outer layers. By injuring tissue just enough, collagen production increases and this helps reduce wrinkles, dark spots and acne scarring.
Other laser treatments aim to target different parts of the skin: birthmarks and pigmented spots. Usually red or brown in hue, birthmarks fall under two categories – vascular birthmarks and pigmented birthmarks respectively; common examples include port wine stains, hemangiomas, and nevus of Ota/Ito.
Lasers work by targeting the water molecules within your cells. As heat from this process causes these waters to evaporate, eventually leading to their destruction and the gradual fade-away of spots. For more serious cases involving brown spots we may utilize our q-switched YAG laser in order to help fade these unwanted marks.
When it comes to laser treatments, it’s important to remember that each state varies in terms of who can operate class IV medical lasers (the most powerful types). In California, licensed physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants can operate class IV lasers but must be overseen by a practicing physician. When looking for providers in Los Angeles or Torrance, make sure to ask about their experience, education and track record with regard to your preferred device.
